AMP Robotics Named to 2021 Global Cleantech 100

12th annual list recognizes innovative companies worldwide committed to delivering solutions to enhance the future

DENVER, December 15, 2020—Cleantech Group has named AMP Robotics Corp. (“AMP”), a pioneer in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics used to recover commodities reclaimed as raw materials for the global supply chain, a 2021 Global Cleantech 100 Company. Delivering solutions that will pave the way from climate chaos to transformation, the 100 companies on the list represent the private, independent, and for-profit companies best positioned to contribute to a more digitized, de-carbonized and resource-efficient future.

The 2021 list includes innovators from 15 countries, with just over half located in the United States and the rest hailing from Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. The sectors covered include Agriculture & Food, Enabling Technologies, Energy & Power, Materials & Chemicals, Transportation & Logistics, and Resources & Environment.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by Cleantech Group along with such forward-thinking companies continuing to make an impact in a challenging year,” said Matanya Horowitz, founder and CEO of AMP Robotics. “In addition to its environmental role in combating waste, recycling provides critical manufacturing feedstock for products and packaging, which came into sharp focus this year as the virus disrupted global supply chains and put pressure on the availability of domestic raw material. We’re proud to be playing a role in building and deploying technology to support the resilience of the recycling industry and the essential public service it provides.”

The list combines Cleantech Group’s research data with qualitative judgements from nominations and insight from a global, 91-member expert panel of leading investors and executives active in technology and innovation scouting. From pioneers and veterans to new entrants, the panel broadly represents the global cleantech community and produces a list with a powerful base of respect and support from many important players within the cleantech innovation ecosystem.

“We are delighted to welcome 50 companies for their first time on this year’s new Global Cleantech 100. This replacement rate speaks to the healthy maturing of this innovation ecosystem and to some specific impacts of COVID-19,” said Richard Youngman, CEO, Cleantech Group. “On the one hand, the 2021 list reflects long-running mega-trends like decarbonization, digitization, electrification, and the ever-increasing volumes of deployed renewable energy. On the other, COVID-19’s impact is evident—for example, in the uptick in automation and robotics-enabled solutions, in logistics and supply chain solutions, and solutions in the food chain to prevent, reduce, and repurpose food waste. Resilience is a new critical factor at play.”

AMP was named a Rising Star Company of the Year in the 2020 Cleantech 100. Since then, Fast Company recognized Horowitz as one of 2020’s “Most Creative People in Business” and named AMP one of the “World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2020.” This year, AMP was also named to Forbes "AI 50” and Fortune’s “Impact 20,” and received an Innovation Award from Robotics Business Review, a Colorado 2020 “Inno on Fire” award, and the National Recycling Coalition’s Outstanding Business Leadership award.

    About AMP Robotics Corp.
AMP Robotics is modernizing the world’s recycling infrastructure by applying AI and robotics to increase recycling rates and economically recover recyclables reclaimed as raw materials for the global supply chain. The AMP Cortex™ high-speed robotics system automates the identification and sorting of recyclables from mixed material streams. The AMP Neuron™ AI platform continuously trains itself by recognizing different colors, textures, shapes, sizes, patterns, and even brand labels to identify materials and their recyclability. Neuron then guides robots to pick and place the material to be recycled. Designed to run 24/7, all of this happens at superhuman speed with extremely high accuracy. With deployments across North America, Asia, and Europe, AMP’s technology recovers recyclables from municipal waste, precious commodities from electronic waste, and high-value materials from construction and demolition debris. AMP is made in America with headquarters and manufacturing operations in Colorado.
